After the EP “Divisadora” published in late 2011 by the label Kütu Folk, the first LP of Garciaphone – now officially a trio, with Matthieu Lopez on guitar & bass, and Raphaël Brou on drums – was recorded in December 2012 by Peter Deimel (The Wedding Present, Chokebore, Deus, etc.) at the Black Box Studio near Angers, France.
Through the full length of the 12 songs, we wander through enigmatic lyrics and compositions that sway from light to chiaroscuro and from tenderness to tearing apart. It feels like each sound is coming from the guts of the musicians straight to that of the listener (and settling there). Even if frailty is palpable, and a contained urgency is often right under the surface, they gracefully combine with a quite fascinating elegance.
