Raoul Vignal “Shadow Bands” (out nov. 08), crystalline poetry, new album available for pre-order, first single ’Icarus’
Raoul Vignal is often recognized for his guitar playing (subtle arpeggios and finger-picking) and his singing, which is imbued with a luminous melancholy. However, his songwriting talents are sometimes overlooked. Like an impressionist painter, he captures and draws inspiration from the atmosphere of his everyday life. His compositions are nomadic, each one a story, a postcard.
Raoul Vignal’s new album Shadow Bands once again showcases that stripped-down, crystalline poetry that quietly finds its way into our hearts.

“Icarus”, take-off track, where the instrumentation, displaying influences broader than your conventional anglo-saxon folk song, depicts a warm landscape from which crooned vocals arise, inviting us to another account of Icarus and his destiny.
Somewhere in between mythology and shades of tropicalia, the whirling sensation is tangible.
